I don't really understand the use case for rambox, isn't it just a browser? It might be a good one, but for now I'll keep searching :) Is there a (next best thing) as alternative? Thanks!Įdit: Added link in the title, stupid idea, mods: feel free to change the title! I already added the link to the contents of this post.Įdit 2: Apparently Franz (which was closed-source) has been open-sourced, so I'll try that one out again.Įdit 3: I just tried running Franz 5 beta, and I was greeted by a login window I cannot avoid. Why I can see that the developers want to make money, as do I, I don't think it's good for open-source as they have an incentive to leave features out of the community edition and into the paid version. I recently got a notification that they are making a free community edition and a paid pro version ( ). I hate to swap back and forth to desktop applications because some random dude wants to use a fancy chat app. I use Rambox a lot, as it combines many different chat apps to a single app and let's me use them all at once.
